    Parent & Family Grievance Process

At Aspire Charter Academy, we value open communication, mutual respect, and positive partnerships with our families. We recognize that questions, concerns, or disagreements may occasionally arise, and we are committed to addressing them fairly, respectfully, and in a timely manner.

Our goal is to resolve concerns at the lowest appropriate level while maintaining a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment for all students.

Step 1: Contact the Teacher or Appropriate Staff Member

Parents and guardians are encouraged to first discuss concerns directly with the teacher or staff member most closely involved in the matter.  Many concerns can be resolved through open communication, clarification, and collaboration.

    Step 2: Contact School Administration

If the concern remains unresolved, or if the nature of the concern warrants administrative attention, parents may contact Shanda Fox sfox@aspirecharteracademy.com or Jodi Shea jshea@aspirecharteracademy.com / 407-297-9955.

School administration will review the concern, gather relevant information, and work toward an appropriate resolution.

For complaints involving student health, safety, or welfare under Florida Statutes Section 1001.42(8)(c), the principal or designated representative will provide a response within seven (7) business days of receiving the complaint, consistent with Florida Administrative Code Rule 6A-6.0791.

Step 3: Contact the Governing Board Representative

If the concern has not been satisfactorily resolved through school administration, parents may contact the designated Governing Board Representative for parental involvement and dispute resolution.  A school administrator will provide contact information.

The representative assists families with questions, concerns, access to information, and dispute resolution.

    Submitting a Formal Grievance

Parents wishing to submit a formal written grievance should provide:

    • Parent or guardian’s name and contact information
    • Student’s name and grade level, when applicable
    • A description of the concern
    • Relevant dates and individuals involved
    • Steps already taken to resolve the matter
    • The resolution being requested

Written grievances may be submitted to Shanda Fox or Jodi Shea.

    Our Commitment to Families

Aspire Charter Academy is committed to treating all concerns with professionalism, discretion, and respect. Information will be shared only as appropriate and consistent with applicable privacy requirements.

We encourage families to communicate concerns promptly so that we can work together toward positive solutions for our students.

Certain matters, including special education disputes, discrimination complaints, and other complaints governed by specific laws, require separate procedures.
